Licence Condition
The licensee must undertake the collaborative hydrodynamic investigation works outlined in the licensee's letter to the EPA dated 27 September 2018 (licensee's reference A947801, EPA reference DOC18/732494). The purpose of the investigation is to understand the cumulative impacts of stormwater discharges from the premises and the neighbouring Incitec Pivot Limited facility to the Hunter River, with a view to minimising and preventing stormwater discharges polluting waters. The investigation must include, but is not limited to, the following. (a) A three-month water sampling program to further inform target levels; (b) A tracer dye trial to assess local turbulent mixing; and (c) Refined far-field modelling to consider time and distance needed to achieve target concentrations. A report detailing the investigation, its findings, recommendations and timeframes for the implementation of the recommended works must be provided to the EPA's Director - Hunter at PO Box 488G, Newcastle NSW 2300, or emailed to hunter.region.epa.nsw.gov.au. Date for completion: 30 April 2019.
