Licence conditions for pollution studies and reduction programs

Summary

Licence number: 1378
Title: PRS 6 - Investigate additional downwind dust monitoring point(s)
Start date: 29 Aug 2014

Licence Condition
Background In April 2014, the licensee applied for a licence variation, requesting to change the position of Depositional Dust Gauge 3 (DDG 3). The licensee stated that the results from DDG 3 are being influenced by cattle in the paddock where the gauge is located and that the results being recorded from the site are not representative of the Quarry. Upon review of this application, the EPA refused this request on 5 June 2014 on the basis that no evidence had been provided to support the licensees view. However, in order to better investigate dust impacts from the premises, the EPA encourage the licensee to investigate additional representative dust monitoring sites which could be added to the current monitoring regime.
Deliverables The Licensee must investigate additional dust mointoring sites which are representative of the conditions downwind of Martins Creek Quarry. Upon completion of these investigations and inclusion of appropriate justification of any proposed additional site(s), the EPA will consider, via a Licence Variation Application, the inclusion of additional site(s) as new monitoring points as part of the licence air quality monitoring requirements. By 31 December 2014 the licensee must provide a report to the EPA detailing the investigations and making recommendations for any additional dust monitoring within the vicinity of the premises.
Prior to the supply of compost outside the premises, the licensee must demonstrate compliance with the Compost Order 2016.
Composting of non-exempt input materials listed in the Compost Order2016 at the premises must not commence until a specific resource recovery order and resource recovery exemption is obtained.
