Licence Condition
The licensee must investigate and identify the potential sources of copper on the premises. The monitoring and reporting must be undertaken by an appropriately qualified person. A report must be provided to the EPA by 16 August 2013. 1. The investigation must include, but not be limited to sampling and monitoring of; (a) copper in dust in accordance with the EPA Approved Methods for the Sampling and Analysis of Air Pollutants in NSW to ascertain any off-site contributions; (b) regular copper testing required during discharge under licence condition M2; (c) event based sampling / source trace copper testing in site stormwater runoff at a range of sites in accordance with EPA recommended methods for total and dissolved copper to partition source location; (d) adjacent site soil testing; and (e) humiceptor sludge testing for total and dissolved copper. 2. The report prepared for the EPA must; (a) evaluate the monitoring results of air, soil, sludge and water testing through comparisons with meteorological data; (b) identify the potential sources; and (c) recommend options for management in order that the licensee can meet the EPL discharge limits.
